First things first, why #SelfCareIsForEveryone?
Whether you’re single, in a relationship, a mom, or basically anyone, you need to take care of your body, mind, and soul every single day. It doesn’t matter if you work yourself out or you stay at home with or without a child.
Self-care is necessary and it’s important not only to avoid getting sick but also to keep the mind sane and happy.
Sadly, some people fail at self-care and it’s understandable. Most of have have misconceptions about it, such as that it needs time and money or even reason to do it. If you’re a mom like me, we often feel guilty if we take a little time for ourselves but I tell you, that should not be the case. If anything, self-care should be practiced as much as possible because it’s one way for us to fully provide care and love to our family, especially to our kids.
I’m on a better self-care journey and I tell you, it’s one of the best things I’ve done for myself. It’s life-changing and I believe that you should starts yours, too!So in this post, I’ll share with you some self-care tips you can easily do.
If you’re a mother, this can be challenging. especially if you have a newborn. There are tips to improve sleep for new moms that you can follow, such as:
The key is to find which one will work for you.
Meanwhile, if you can go to bed without worrying about anything, then take advantage of it. Sleep should not be a luxury as it is a medical requirement. It affects not only your health but also your mood.
The question is, how you make sleep a part of your self-care routine?
One tip is to avoid caffeine or other sugary snacks and beverages as these keeps you awake. It would also help if you follow a consistent sleep routine, which includes the time you will go to bed, your activity (reading a book, meditating, journaling, etc.) Another tip is to free yourself from distractions, which might include using a cellphone or watching the TV.
Also try to calm yourself and use room-darkening curtains for a good night sleep.
The types of food and drink create an impact to your stomach, and it can have a positive or negative result. Therefore, you should take note of what you consume as it affects your health and overall well-being.Some of the things you can do to boost your gut’s health is by taking probiotic or prebiotic, keeping yourself hydrated, and changing your diet.
There are also tea blends you can consume for proper digestion, such as green tea, chamomile tea, peppermint tea, and ginger tea.
Working out or staying active is said to be good for our health but do we exactly know why?Exercising on a daily basis does not only keep us physically fit; it also reduces stress and contributes to a better mood. Also, it gives the mind the clarity it needs so make sure to incorporate exercise in your daily routine. No time to go to the gym?
Don’t worry, staying active doesn’t need going to the gym or having a heavy workout. Walking, doing yoga, or even dancing can help. The key is to find a routine that suits your lifestyle and schedule.
And no to other people, especially if it doesn’t serve you. It can be hard and might take you to a guilt trip. However, if you know that you have a lot of things to do, under a stressful situation, or overworked, saying no to others can help.
It might take a little practice and the same thing applies for saying yes to self-care.If you’re always guilty about taking time for yourself, you can start by practicing small and simple self-care activities, such as having a short quiet time, tea meditation, or reading. Again, the key is to find which one will work best for you!
There’s no right or wrong way to do self-care. It’s personal and it’s not just about following self-care gurus or influencers; it’s about you giving yourself and your mind ways to become more blissful and happier.
